This past Labor Day weekend, I was enjoying the company of many fine people at a Christian Camp. There was a group of men there on a church retreat. They decided to play some volleyball. I wasn't part of their specific group but I had gotten to know them and joined them on the court.
At one point, two of the players had a bizarre play and the ball did some equally bizarre move at the net. I called the play as being our point because, well, when there is a question in such a moment, that's what you do...
Not this group! As the shouting about who's point it should be gained momentum and volume, I started laughing because these grown men, any one of which could take me out with one punch, were arguing in reverse of what's normal!
"We messed up. It's your point!" one shouted...
"We need to do what's right. I believe it's your point." said the opposing player.
Odd huh?
Oh, did I forget to tell you about these men? Most, were ex-convicts and or recovering drug addicts and/or former drug dealers. All were now men of God who had turned their lives over to Christ!
These men know the meaning of deliverance from what was in their life to what is in their life!
We could all learn something from these delivered men of God.
Oh, by the way, my team won the game...
