Please Know...

As I come to know these fine people, they share with me more of their personal and sensitive stories. Their collective story is what I am trying to share with you as my way of breaking the stereotypical beliefs that exist. "Blog names" have occasionally been given to me by the person whose story I am telling. Names are never their actual names and wherever I can do so, I might use the opposite pronoun (his/her, etc.) just to help increase their privacy.

Throughout this blog you are now seeing advertising. I need to provide this so as to keep going financially with this ministry. If you see something that is inappropriate to this site, please let me know - maybe get a screen shot of it for me. I do get credit for any "click" that you might make on any of the ads. If you're bored some night and want to help me raise some needed cash, visit my site and click away to your heart's content....

My 64th Birthday Wish: A Call to Action for My Neighbors in Kensington

Since early 2017, I've walked the streets of Kensington, Philadelphia, serving a community of incredible human beings who are often overlooked and misunderstood. They are people battling the painful, relentless disease of addiction and the harsh reality of homelessness. This ministry is a profoundly personal calling, one I've been honored to pursue.

As I celebrate my 64th birthday on October 21st, I'm not asking for gifts. Instead, I have one simple wish: to continue this vital mission. My goal is to raise enough to close a significant financial gap that threatens to force me to cut back on my time with the community.

While I am employed full-time as a driver at Recovery Centers of America (RCA), the mission of Your Helpful Neighbor operates entirely separately. I am incredibly grateful for the support of my three consistent donors who help make this ministry possible. However, as a single person with all of life's expenses, a recent $1,000 financial gap has developed. This shortfall, a mix of both personal and ministry costs, is making it difficult to cover the essential expenses that enable my consistent presence in Kensington.

Your help is crucial to my ability to maintain a consistent presence on the streets of Kensington and continue this ministry without the worry of this financial hole.

How You Can Help

  • A One-Time Gift to Address an Immediate Need: I am seeking a one-time gift to help me fill this immediate $1,000 financial hole, which will restore my financial stability and allow me to refocus all my energy on the people of Kensington.

  • A Sustainable Partnership through Recurring Donations: Beyond this immediate need, I am building a foundation of regular, consistent support to make this ministry sustainable for the long term. This allows me to budget effectively and confidently dedicate my time to advocacy and outreach.

Please consider setting up a recurring payment through the various electronic options on my website, Ministry Funding Options page of my blog site.

Why This Matters

This ministry is about more than a handout; it's about walking alongside people and affirming their dignity. My blog at Yourhelpfulneighbor.com shares stories of this work, and by helping me, you are directly enabling me to continue this vital mission.

For my birthday, you can join the "64 for 64" campaign by donating $6.40, $64, or any amount that includes the number 64. Thank you for your prayers and for considering a gift to this work. Together, we can make a tangible difference.

Continue to watch here for updates to this birthday campaign.

Thank you.

Chris
