Please Know...

As I come to know these fine people, they share with me more of their personal and sensitive stories. Their collective story is what I am trying to share with you as my way of breaking the stereotypical beliefs that exist. "Blog names" have occasionally been given to me by the person whose story I am telling. Names are never their actual names and wherever I can do so, I might use the opposite pronoun (his/her, etc.) just to help increase their privacy.

Throughout this blog you are now seeing advertising. I need to provide this so as to keep going financially with this ministry. If you see something that is inappropriate to this site, please let me know - maybe get a screen shot of it for me. I do get credit for any "click" that you might make on any of the ads. If you're bored some night and want to help me raise some needed cash, visit my site and click away to your heart's content....

Administrative Discharge From a Medical Facility Led to My Loved One's Death

The purpose of this questionnaire is to identify victims who were improperly discharged from any medical facility while seeking detox care and died shortly thereafter.

We are deeply sorry for your loss.

This effort is being organized by a person who grieves the loss of a loved one who desired nothing more than healing from this disease that was blocking her path to her life-long personal and professional goals.

She put her trust in a facility to help her find healing.  They did something outrageous and she was dead within 24 hours of her admission.

We need your help to bring justice to such situations and make changes in laws to prevent such institutional behaviors from ever happening again.

Everything shared here will remain confidential.

**********

After serving for eight years on the streets of Kensington, I tragically lost a loved one under suspicious circumstances at the hands of a detox facility.

I'm part of a growing team looking into cases where individuals were discharged from medical facilities against their will and died shortly afterward.

We are currently collecting basic information. To this end, we have created a form.

If you are a loved one of someone who has died in these circumstances, or if you suspect that this may have been the case, we would like to hear from you. All information will be kept confidential.

Please share this form with others so that we can seek justice for our loved ones who sought care and were taken away from it by a facility that should have known better.

Thank you.
